New Delhi, April 23: In the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking heightened security measures in sensitive hill states.
The petition urges the Centre and state governments to review and bolster their counter-terror infrastructure, especially in high-tourism and border-sensitive regions like Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
The petitioner contends that intelligence lapses and inadequate deployment of forces in these regions pose a persistent threat to national security, tourists, and local populations. The apex court is expected to hear the matter next week.
