Jammu, April 8: In an emotional farewell ceremony organized by the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, Justice Tashi Rabstan reflected on his unexpected yet fulfilling journey in the legal profession, expressing deep gratitude to the Jammu Bar and the people of the region.
“I accidentally came into this profession,” Justice Rabstan said, recalling his early days. “I came to Jammu for graduation, then pursued LLB, and today I stand before you as Chief Justice. Jammu Bar has given me a lot.”
Justice Rabstan admitted that he never envisioned himself becoming a judge, let alone the Chief Justice. “This is all because of the love and affection of Bar members, colleagues, and seniors,” he said.
Highlighting his deep connection with Jammu, he shared that despite being from Ladakh, he never considered relocating there. “Because of the love and affection from the people of Jammu, I never thought to go to Ladakh. That’s why I decided to settle in Jammu.”
Though retiring from the bench, Justice Rabstan assured the legal fraternity that he would remain connected. “I can’t practice, but I will keep in touch with lawyers and Bar members,” he concluded.
The event was marked by heartfelt tributes from fellow judges, senior advocates, and Bar Association members, acknowledging Justice Rabstan’s contributions to the judiciary and his unwavering commitment to justice.
