Jammu, March 17, 2025: A Special Excise Mobile Magistrate Court in Janipur, Jammu, has issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Mehraj Din Malik in a defamation case filed by Ghulam Mohammad Saroori.
The warrant, issued under Section 499 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), directs the SHO of Police Station Gandoh to arrest Mehraj Din Malik and present him before the court on May 14, 2025. The order warns of strict action in case of non-compliance.
Malik, a resident of Village Tandla, Tehsil Chilli Pingal, District Doda, has been charged with defamation. The case was filed by Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, a political leader, against the sitting MLA.
This development adds to the legal troubles of the AAP leader, who now faces imminent arrest unless he secures legal relief before the next court date.
